Starcrossed: Our New Book

Paris, école des Beaux-Arts 1941, Annette Zelman

Starcrossed. We are thrilled to announce that we just delivered the MS of our new book to the publisher: Starcrossed: A Romeo and Juliet Story in Hitler’s Paris went off last night at 11pm; 144,000 words, 450 pages, hundreds of footnotes and sources… we just got rights to a Picasso print and one of Man Ray’s photos. It’s the story of a young Jewish girl, Annette Zelman, an artist and writer, who falls in love with an upcoming French poet named Jean Jausion. They plan to marry but she is betrayed to the Germans, imprisoned, and then transported via Drancy to Auschwitz where she died in autumn 1942. The story covers the years 1940-44.
